Never underestimate the influence of random acts of kindness and how it touches the lives of others. Yes, you can make a difference in someone’s entire day. Wishing someone good cheer, or simply smiling; not only can warm a heart, but the overtone becomes contagious. Have you ever smiled at a stranger passing by, and then turned around to see their reaction? They most likely are smiling as well, and I can almost guarantee that the next person they pass will also receive a smile. And so it goes…just a simple spontaneous gesture, that’s all it takes.
Whether you realize it or not, you are sending out a message, reminding others that they matter. It’s a deliberate attempt to brighten someone else’s day, without expecting something in return. Spontaneous acts of kindness; moves us out of our self-centeredness and self-obsession, as well as selfishness. This all makes for a healthier and joyful society; by sending out positive vibrations to those you come in contact with.
Deliberate acts of kindness can be thoughtfulness, forgiveness, or compassion towards others. It may also include being supportive and nurturing, or tender and loving. These are just a few which are more emotional acts or behaviors, but there are plenty of other deeds that can be done, as the list is endless. Anything you would love to receive that would lift your own spirits will do the same for others. Most important, it should always be genuine and come from the goodness of your heart with the intentions of lifting the spirits of another human being.
And what about you? It most definitely can make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, knowing you made a difference in the life of someone else. Humbled; just because you went out of your way to be kind. By living your life being kind, and sharing that kindness; brings self-gratification and can even increase your self-esteem. Do this every day, and it will just become second nature to you. It will be part of who you are. How beautiful…
